Since its introduction in the summer of 2003, the Araluen’s Chilli Festival has firmly established itself as one of Perth’s major cultural events. It has strong community involvement, celebrates the unique culinary and cultural aspects of chillies and features a diverse range of stallholders and entertainment that promotes an appreciation of healthy living and culture. These qualities are recognized by the principal naming-rights sponsor, Healthway, for the promotion of its “Go for 2 & 5” health message. The Chilli Festival was a Gold medal winner in 2007 and a 2008 finalist in the WA Tourism Awards (Festival & Events).
The Chilli Festival is a celebration of everything Chilli from fresh foods, plants, pickles, chutneys, olives, cheese, chocolate, wine, beers and much, much more. There’ll also be vibrant music a carnival atmosphere and celebrity chef demonstrations. Enjoy the celebrations on the Fremantle Esplanade on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 March 2011.
